Periodontal disease in lizards is becoming more and more common and has been treated as a distinct clinical entity in the last 10+ years. This condition is seen in chameleons and agamid lizards, with bearded dragons (Pogona vitticeps) being markedly overrepresented. This lecture will cover the anatomy and pathogenesis of periodontal disease along with clinical signs and grading of disease, treatment options, and strategies for prevention.
