Accurate monitoring is the cornerstone of managing respiratory patients but challenges abound with these delicate patients. This session will review the strengths and limitations of commonly used tools, from pulse oximetry and capnography to arterial blood gas analysis. Practical tips for interpretation and troubleshooting will be emphasized. Participants will leave with a framework for choosing the right monitoring approach in different clinical scenarios, and an understanding of interpretation of monitoring.
