Description
The use of Global FAST is advantageous for detecting traditionally difficult conditions such as dilated cardiomyopathy, pulmonary hypertension, caval syndrome, pulmonary thromboembolism, and left atrial tear/rupture in dogs, and hypertrophic cardiomyopathy in cats. This presentation will cover first line point-of-care ultrasound imaging including clinical pearls for imaging and initial management. By detecting these traditionally difficult conditions sooner as part of their initial assessment with evidence-based information by seeing the problem, these conditions are thus detected more rapidly leading to more accurately treating patients carrying the potential for better outcome.
