Name
Research Abs: Outcomes and Risk Factors in Shelter Cats with Feline Infectious Peritonitis
Date & Time
Friday, April 10, 2026, 2:05 PM - 2:20 PM
Description
Feline infectious peritonitis (FIP) was once considered a uniformly fatal disease, particularly in shelter populations where stress and population density are high. The availability of antiviral therapies, such as GS-441524, has dramatically shifted the prognosis. However, limited data exist on clinical outcomes, risk factors, and operational approaches for treating FIP in shelter settings. The purpose of this study was to describe outcomes and predictors of mortality among cats treated for FIP in a shelter setting.
