Do you know who your state veterinarian is?  Do they know you?  How is your relationship with your state veterinarian's office?  Have you ever had to report a reportable animal disease to your state veterinarian's office?  This discussion will review the appropriate steps to reporting suspected animal diseases to your state animal health official (SAHO).  We will also discuss other tips and tricks to establishing a positive and productive relationship with your SAHO.  (Note: this discussion will be relevant to all disciplines of veterinary medicine and ABVP specialties, not just food animal).
