Dr. Libby Ramirez completed her undergraduate degree in Biology at the California Institute of Technology in 1998. She graduated with her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Texas A&M cum laude in 2002. After spending a year in general veterinary practice in El Paso, Dr. Ramirez joined the Animal Emergency Hospital of North Texas in 2003, where she practiced until 2023. Dr. Ramirez was most recently Chief of Hospital Operations at Animal Emergency Hospital of North Texas, but currently practices as an Emergency Veterinarian at North Dallas Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Hospital, a start-up emergency specialty hospital in Frisco, TX. She completed a specialty veterinary certification in 2011, becoming a diplomate of the American Board of Veterinary Practice (Canine/Feline). She helped found the first fellowship in Emergency Practice through ABVP. She enjoys all things emergency medicine, including soft tissue ultrasound, toxicology, transfusion medicine, critical care and soft tissue surgery. Dr. Ramirez is an accomplished mentor and speaker and is passionate about emergency doctor development/retention. She is the founder of The Educated Vet, a Texas LLC to provide continuing education to veterinarians and veterinary staff. Dr. Ramirez is also a certified RECOVER instructor.
