The most recent embryo activity reported by the International Embryo Technology Society (IETS) estimates that 80% of global embryo production is through in vitro embryo production (IVP) processes. As IVP technologies improve and increase in efficiency, this trend will continue. In the face of this large shift from conventional embryo production techniques to in vitro systems, there are implications and challenges that the bovine industries currently face. This session will touch on some of the considerations that will impact the practicing veterinarian, with emphasis on Abnormal Offspring Syndrome (AOS).
