Description
Antemortem diagnostics for avian aspergillosis continue to be problematic. A multi-year project has been underway to delineate the application of antibody, antigen, biomarker, electrophoresis, and toxin quantitation primarily in African penguins, but considerable information has been gathered in other avian species also. This presentation will review this methodology and information learned from these assays as well as the utility of newly implemented antibody and antigen assays and studies underway to understand the avian humoral immune response to Aspergillus.
