Description
In his lecture stream, Dr. Lappin plans to provide clinically relevant updates on common infectious causes of fever and respiratory diseases emphasizing information published within the last 2 years. He will use a case based approach to emphasis how to recognize different infectious agents using the physical examination and history. Appropriate use of confirmation tests to prove the diagnosis will be reviewed, including how best to use molecular diagnostic tests like PCR. Lastly, in both sections, he will emphasize new treatment recommendations for specific agents. We will most of the vector borne diseases, FIP, Toxoplasma and all the classic respiratory diseases, including FHV-1, FCV, SARS-CoV2, and new findings with influenza viruses, including H3N1.
