Description

Adrenocortical disease has been diagnosed in pet ferrets for over 30 years. Initially, treatment options were limited primarily to surgery via adrenalectomy. Medical management of hyperadrenocortical disease in ferrets via hormone therapy is now the most common treatment modality. Regardless of treatment chosen, some patients fail to respond to medical management, and surgery remains a viable option for some ferret patients.
