Dr. Ashley Emanuele graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Marine Biology from Roger Williams University in RI and worked as an aquatics curator at the NC Museum of Natural Sciences before attending NC State's College of Veterinary Medicine for her doctorate.
Since graduation, Ashley has worked in exotics-exclusive private practice and became North Carolina's first Certified Aquatic Veterinarian in 2017. She is a Past President of the American Association of Fish Veterinarians, and member of both the AVMA Aquatic Veterinary Medicine Committee and the ABVP-Fish Practice Organizing Committee. She is now building the exotics practice for an urgent care facility in Southern Pines, NC. In 2024 she became North Carolina's first boarded fish veterinarian through the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners, and is one of 16 such veterinarians to hold the distinction currently. She juggles her clinical exotics work, teaching veterinarians and vet students frequently, and life with three young kids. In her spare time, Dr. Emanuele likes baking, hiking, talking to her chickens, gardening, reading with her kids, and sitting by the fire pit with her partner Heather.
