This presentation will explore the essential aspects of caring for reptiles and amphibians in captivity. This will cover everything from enclosure design and environmental control, to diet, enrichment, and species-specific needs. I will go in depth on understanding the "why" behind every choice of the habitat design, to understanding biology and behavior to reduce the stress of these species in captivity. Throughout the lecture I will also discuss the common health issues and how they tie into the choices clients make every day for their pet. My goal is that attendees leave with the knowledge and confidence to help clients create a naturalistic, healthy environments that support the long-term wellbeing of their companions.
