This presentation discusses the physiologic responses of coleoid cephalopods (octopus, cuttlefish, squid) to their environments. The rolls of chromic cells are explored and explained through hormonal, mechanical, and nervous stimuli, which create their adaptive color changing abilities we frequently witness in aquarium and lab settings.
