Parasites are ever-present within aquatic systems. Most frequently, a parasite outbreak results from poor husbandry, poor environmental conditions, and social changes, rather than from a novel introduction. Common parasitic diseases, their detection, control, and prevention will be discussed, providing tools to reduce morbidity and mortality.
