Ophthalmic abnormalities are a common presenting complaint for many reptile and amphibian patients. Ocular disease can vary in severity, but in some cases, delays in treatment can lead to loss of vision or even the loss of an eye. It is important that practitioners are comfortable with the clinical signs, diagnostic approach, and treatment options for various ocular disorders.
Reptile and amphibian patient anatomy and physiology can sometimes pose challenges for treatment. This presentation will review common ophthalmic conditions and treatment options.
