Dr. Weisbrod obtained her DVM from Cornell University and completed AQUAVET I, II and III during her summers. She completed a rotating internship at VCA West Los Angeles followed by a specialty internship, masters focused on manatee pathology, and residency in aquatic and zoological medicine at the University of Florida. Upon the completion of her training she obtained board certification as a specialist in zoological medicine through the American College of Zoological Medicine, joined the faculty at UF as a Clinical Assistant Professor in aquatic animal medicine, and was a contract veterinarian for SeaWorld Orlando. She presently serves as a Senior Veterinarian at Mystic Aquarium where she is responsible for the health and welfare of the aquarium’s animals and care of stranded marine mammals and sea turtles undergoing rehabilitation in the Animal Rescue Clinic.
