Dr. Teresa Bousquet grew up in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. She knew she wanted to be a vet since grade 1. In her high school years she adopted a rabbit, Hazel, and through him she came to the realization that what she really wanted to be was an exotic animal veterinarian. She attended the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon, graduating in 2007. She moved to Edmonton, Alberta and pursued her ambition of becoming an exotic animal veterinarian. It’s been a long journey, but in 2024 she achieved her dream of becoming a Diplomate of the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners in Exotic Companion Mammal Practice. She continues to live in Edmonton with her husband Peter, her cats Katniss and Mirabel, and her guinea pigs Victoria, Lillibet and Freddie.
