Glass Frog (Centrolenids) Husbandry, Reproductive Care, and Common Diseases
Speakers
Description
Glass Frogs (Centrolenids) have become popular as zoo display animals, pets, and research models over the past decade. Due to increasing popularity, they are a class of frogs that we may begin seeing more frequently, especially amongst veterinarians who treat reptiles and amphibians. It is important to help maintain captive populations of glass frogs, in order to reduce the number of wild caught individuals being brought into the pet trade, which risks introduction of pathogens and stress on wild populations. This presentation will focus on care, husbandry, reproduction, and common diseases one may encounter when working with glass frogs.
