Dr. Brittany Stevens graduated from UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine in 2013 with an emphasis in zoological medicine. Following graduation, she completed a small animal rotating internship in Ventura California, and then a 1-year internship in wildlife and conservation medicine at the Clinic for Rehabilitation of Wildlife on Sanibel Island Florida. From 2015-2017, she returned to UC Davis and served as a staff veterinarian in the Aquatic Animal Health department and was the inaugural participant in the Aquatic Animal Health Fellowship program through UC Davis SVM and the partner institutions of Hubbs SeaWorld Research Institute, Monterey Bay Aquarium, and the California Academy of Sciences. Dr. Stevens is recognized as a Certified Aquatic Veterinarian through the World Aquatic Veterinary Medical Association and is a diplomate of the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners certified in Fish Practice. She is currently employed at the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach, California where she is responsible for providing veterinary services to the aquarium’s diverse collection of over 14,000 animals. Her research interests include diagnostic imaging, infectious diseases, wound healing and anesthesia of aquatic animals
