The tropical fish industry is a lucrative global business that thrives on the trade of thousands of fish species, both aquacultured and wild-caught. Stressors associated with production, capture, holding and transport can predispose fish to parasitic diseases. This lecture will review some of the most common and some not so common, but unique, parasitic diseases of tropical fish that the veterinarian may encounter in practice. Where appropriate guidance on treatment and control measures will also be provided.
