Various diseases of concern with widespread financial implications for both aquaculturists and hobbyists have cropped up over the years, but through veterinary involvement they have been identified, characterized and addressed. However, “new” pathogens or the reemergence of pathogens once considered to be under control continues to be a problem that plagues fish farmers and hobbyists alike. This lecture will review some of these emerging diseases of fish and discuss potential control measures.
