Dr. Trista Becker is a 2013 graduate of the University of Georgia CVM and became a Diplomate of ABVP in Fish Practice in 2023. Much of her experience since graduation has been working for state and government agencies as a veterinarian and fish health pathologist. She spent much of this time with hatchery programs supplementing salmon, steelhead, trout, sturgeon and lamprey for the Columbia and Snake River hydropower systems. She also worked with various warmwater fish such as catfish and bass in addition to threatened and endangered fish recovery programs for other species such as the Rio Grande silvery minnow, the Fountain darter, and the Gila trout among many others. She now works as a mobile veterinarian in the Boise, Idaho area providing services for pet fish and also as adjunct faculty for Boise State University. She spends much of her time volunteering for various conservation programs and committees in between building a log cabin in central Idaho. Her other hobbies include flying small airplanes, fitness, vegetable gardening, and learning about native bees.
