Dr. Jaime Priess is a small animal veterinarian based in Oberlin, Ohio, where she owns Oberlin Animal Hospital, a private practice specializing in outpatient care for dogs and cats. She currently lives on a farm in Wellington, Ohio, with a variety of animals including horses, goats, chickens, cats, a dog, a Guinea pig, two parakeets, and fish. A mother of three, Dr. Priess finds joy and fulfillment in her children, and enjoys running, gardening, reading, and cooking.
Over the past two years Dr. Priess has deepened her understanding of emotional regulation and mental health support through her study of The Overview Method by Dr. Nima Rahmany, and Polyvagal Theory by Dr. Stephen Porges. She shares these insights through her Facebook group, Ventral Vets, and by delivering lectures to veterinary students. As an ambassador for the Veterinary Hope Foundation, Dr. Priess is now traveling across the country to offer guidance and support to fellow veterinarians, with the goal of alleviating the mental health challenges and interpersonal conflicts many in the profession face.
