Name

Description

Carl, a 25-year old Sulcata Tortoise, presented for a five-day history of anorexia and a three-day history of lethargy. Being the free spirit (and free-roamer) he is, Carl enjoys snacking on romaine lettuce, strawberries, kale, orchard grass hay, and, apparently, drywall. To say he was slightly "backed-up" would be an understatement, as drywall becomes rather solid in intestinal environments. This is a case report detailing the diagnostics and treatments included in de-obstipation of a tortoise, from presentation to discharge, and how his case was managed in the clinic.
