Anneliese Strunk, Center for Bird and Exotic Animal Medicine
Data from over 500 cases of cardiopulmonary resuscitation performed at an exotic specialty practice over 5 years will be reviewed. Cases include small mammals (rabbits, guinea pigs, ferrets, small rodents, hedgehogs, sugar gliders), birds, and reptiles.** Protocols, success rates, survival to discharge, and other outcomes will be discussed. Comparison will be drawn between CPR protocols for canine and feline companion animals, with a focus on RECOVER protocols, and practices in exotic animals. Future avenues for guided data collection and protocol refinement will be proposed in an effort to improve success rates and case outcomes in our patients moving forward. **Results can be limited to small mammals if preferred (for a non-hybrid session).
