Lauren Gawel is a 2022 DVM graduate of the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University. She then completed a small animal rotating internship at a private practice referral hospital, Bulger Veterinary Hospital in Lawrence, MA. After this, she returned to Tufts to complete her specialty internship as the Zoological Companion Animal Medicine / Emergency and Critical Care split intern. Following this, she now works as a senior avian and exotic animal medicine staff veterinarian at the referral hospital Angell West Animal Medical Center in Waltham, MA where she sees appointments, transfers, and inpatients as well as sees and consults for emergency cases, and oversees rotating and exotic specialty interns. She spends her free time as the ARAV Education Committee Chair and hanging out with her fiancé, dog, cat, and leopard gecko.
