Worked for a large wholesaler of ornamental fishes before joining the faculty at the NC State
College of Veterinary Medicine in 1993, where he is Professor of Aquatic, Wildlife, and Zoological
Medicine. He is a diplomate of the American and European Colleges of Zoological Medicine and has
authored or co-authored over 300 scientific articles and book chapters. Greg has made 32 trips to
the Galápagos doing wildlife conservation work. He is the faculty founder of the Turtle Rescue
Team, a student-led wildlife clinic that has treated over 9,500 patients.
