I graduated from the Royal Veterinary College, London (RVC) in 2019. I started out in private
practice with a mix of companion animal, exotic and zoological caseload, undertaking additional
certification in exotic animal medicine, before moving into exotic-only work in 2023 when
undertaking an exotic specialty internship. As of July 2024 I started a 3-year ECZM residency in
Herpetology at the RVC. My main clinical interests cover exotic companion animal medicine with a
particular focus on herptile dermatology, oncology and evidence-based medicine.

Elisa is a Registered Veterinary Technician who graduated from the TCC program in 2019 while
working in emergency medicine. She moved into general practice while waiting for an opportunity to
work with exotics. In 2021 she joined the Oklahoma State University zoo department where she is
able to pursue her passions every day. She is hoping to go through the application process to
become a Veterinary Technician Specialist for exotic companion animals. In her spare time she
enjoys hiking, travel, and photography.

Shannon De Leon, DVM, is a veterinarian who completed a specialty internship in the Avian & Exotics
department at MedVet Hilliard. She earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from The Ohio
State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2025 and began her internship immediately
following graduation. Dr. De Leon has a strong interest in the care of a diverse range of species
and is passionate about advancing her career in exotic animal specialty medicine. She is dedicated
to providing high-quality, compassionate care to both patients and their owners.
