She is a graduate of University of Georgia CVM. She is an ABVP Diplomat (Avian Practice) and Certified in Aquatic Animal medicine (WAVMA). She is Adjunct Assistant professor for NCSU-CVM in Clinical Sciences and is Education Committee chair for AAV. She worked in small animal practice for 7 years, while seeing exotic animals, before she began working with exotics exclusively. She owns Avian and Exotic Animal Care an exotic animal exclusive hospital in Raleigh NC.
