Ruth Francis-Floyd is a professor and extension specialist for aquatic medicine within the College of Veterinary Medicine. She holds a joint appointment in the Program in Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences, School of Forest Resources and Conservation and is an Affiliate Extension Specialist with Florida Sea Grant. Her area of expertise is production aquaculture and clinical fish medicine, but her extension and out reach efforts also include some marine mammal activities. She served as the Director of the Aquatic Animal Health program from 2004-2013 before returning to her role as an extension specialist. She currently coordinates the Residency Training program in Aquatic Animal Health that is accredited by the American College of Zoological Medicine. She also currently serves as Chairman of the Education Committee of the American Association of Fish Veterinarians.

Dr. Michael Garner received his DVM from Washington State University in 1987. He practiced in a companion animal/exotic species clinic in Washington State for 4 years before entering a
pathology residency at the University of Florida in 1991. Dr. Garner became board certified in anatomic pathology in 1994, and founded his specialty diagnostic practice, Northwest ZooPath,
that same year. Mike has over 200 scientific publications and book chapters, over 400 professional presentations, and is the co-editor of the new two volume atlas and text, Diseases and
Pathology of Reptiles. He consults for over 100 zoos and approximately 200 private clinics and wildlife facilities. Dr. Garner is also a recipient of the American Association of Zoo Veterinarians’
Duane E. Ullrey Achievement Award, the Distinguished Veterinary Alumnus Award from the College of Veterinary Medicine at Washington State University, and the Davis Thompson
Foundations’ Robert Farrell Award for Excellence in Teaching. When not working, mike enjoys literature, American history, vintage motorcycles, bass fishing and blues guitar.

Dr. Gilbert is originally from Houston, Texas, and completed veterinary school at St. George
University with her clinical year at the University of Illinois. She completed a small animal
rotating internship at the Angell Animal Medical Center, an avian and exotic specialty internship
at Gulf Coast Veterinary Specialists, and a wildlife specialty internship with the National
Wildlife Centre of Canada. She completed her exotic companion mammal residency at the Avian and
Exotic Animal Clinic of Indianapolis in 2024, and is currently working at the Arizona Exotic Animal
Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona.

Dr. Molly Gleeson is a board-certified specialist in Zoological Companion Animal Medicine. She graduated from UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine in 2013. From there, she completed a small animal rotating internship in Mesa, Arizona, and then an exotics specialty internship at Gulf Coast Veterinary Specialists in Houston, Texas. She completed her Zoological Companion Animal Medicine & Surgery Residency at UC Davis and became board-certified with the American College of Zoological Medicine in 2019. After practicing for the last 4 years in Southern California, she has moved back to the bay to expand the available care for exotic pet patients and collaborate with veterinarians in the area. When not at work, Dr. Gleeson is often at home with her two cats and two guinea pigs.

Worked as a sessional instructor as part of the department of Ecosystem and Public Health at UCVM for 9 months in 2016-2017. Returned to California to work as a diagnostic pathologist at one of the state labs in the central valley
