Carolyn Cray, Ph.D. is Professor of Clinical Pathology & Laboratory Medicine at the University of Miami. As Chief of the Division of Comparative Pathology which hosts the internationally recognized Avian & Wildlife Laboratory as well as core laboratories supporting the efforts of university investigators, she has authored over 190 publications. Primary clinical research interests include Encephalitozoon cuniculi, avian aspergillosis, and the applications of protein electrophoresis and acute phase proteins in non-traditional species.

Inga-Catalina Cruz Benedetti, assistant professor of veterinary anesthesiology and pain management at the Université de Montréal, provides anesthesia to a large variety of patients and focuses her research on rabbit anesthesia and analgesia. She graduated from the Freie Universität Berlin, Germany, realized a rotating internship, an anesthesiology residency program, and a master’s degree in Lyon, France, and worked as a clinical instructor at the VetmedUni Vienna, Austria before joining the Montreal team.

Current resident at The Center for Bird and Exotic Animal Medicine in Bothell, WA. She previously had the opportunity to work closely with the zoological medicine service and care for exotics presenting through the emergency department while completing a small animal rotating internship at Oklahoma State University.

She graduated from the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University in 2023 then completed a small animal medicine and surgery rotating internship at Pieper Veterinary Specialists in Connecticut. Dr. Dickerson recently moved with her husband to Houston, TX and she spends most of her free time hiking, biking, and skateboarding. She is enjoying her experience as a specialty intern and aspires to continue on into a residency in zoological medicine.
