Dr. Hyde grew up in North Carolina. Dr. Hyde attended North Carolina State University, for both her undergraduate degree and her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine, which she earned in 2017. She completed a small animal rotating internship at Kansas State University. She then completed an exotic pet medicine and surgery internship at Arizona Exotic Animal Hospital. She is now an associate vet with the Center for Bird and Exotic Animal Medicine in Bothell, WA. In the spring of 2025, Dr. Hyde became a certified veterinary acupuncturist through Chi University.

After obtaining her board certification, Dr. Iredale pursued a master’s degree in Entomology from the University of Florida. Dr. Iredale is passionate about wildlife conservation and preserving zoo and exotic animal species.

Dr. Nicholas Jew attended the University of Texas at Austin where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering. He then earned a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Prior to joining MedVet, Dr. Jew was a small animal and exotic general practitioner in Columbus, OH. He has a special interest in reptile medicine and surgery, husbandry of herps, and the use of UV radiation.

Dr. Johnson started working in veterinary hospitals in 1988. He worked as an assistant and technician during undergrad and vet school. He is a past president of the ARAV and RAVE award recipient. He opened AZEAH in 2007 which now has 3 hospitals. He opened COEAH in 2022 and partnered into AEVC in OR this year. He is the owner of Exotic Pet Vet Management, Inc which is what his primary career focus is now.

Dr. Cathy Johnson-Delaney was named Exotic DVM of the Year (2003) and received the Oxbow Small
Mammal Health Award (2009). She is a past president of AAV and AEMV. She currently chairs the AEMV
Welfare, Ethics and Legislative Committee and serves on its Scientific and Education Committees;
she is also a Director-at-Large for the Association of Reptile and Amphibian Veterinarians. She
serves as Medical Moderator for the ExoticDVM Forum, Manuscript Scientific Proceedings Editor for
AEMV, Assistant/Language Editor for the Journal of Exotic Pet Medicine, and is a member of the AVMA
Scientific Review Board. She also consults with multiple wildlife and exotic animal rescue and
sanctuary organizations in the Pacific Northwest.
